This iconic coffee table book, written by Madonna, features erotic photography by Steven Meisel Studio and Fabien Baron. It was released alongside the singer’s fifth studio album ‘Erotica’ to extensive media attention and criticism. ‘Sex’ is noted for its social and cultural impact and is considered a bold post-feminist work, remaining one of the most in-demand out-of-print titles of all time.

Arguably the first celebrity photographer, fashion photographer David Bailey directed and produced three documentaries between 1968 and 1971: Beaton, Warhol and Visconti. A study of Warhol and his factory, his Warhol documentary was banned upon release due to its purported explicit content.

Inscribed by the author on the fly-title: ‘For John Baxter, with every good wish’. The recipient an authority on film, whose typed notes for a Guardian Lecture on Huston and the director’s appearance at the National Film Theatre (promoting this book, this with Baxter’s manuscript corrections) - both of which conducted by Baxter - are laid in; tipped in to the front endpapers is Baxter’s 2pp. typed account of the latter occasion, signed by him at the foot, recounting his anxiety of both his and the interviewee’s readiness for the encounter, and its eventual success as Huston seemed to grow under the lights. Dimensions: 16cm L x 25cm H x 4cm W.

The actress, dancer and singer’s account of 40 years in the entertainment industry, from early films such as the Marx Bros’ ‘Room Service’ to starring roles in the musicals ‘Easter Parade’, ‘On the Town’ and ‘Kiss Me Kate’. An important look at China at the turn of the century as many foreign nations, notably the US, Russian and Japan, all had a presence as the Boxer Rebellion came to a boil. A lovely example of this important first hand historical record.

Strictly limited to 9 numbered copies. Signed, stamped and numbered 3/9 by artist to verso. Bespoke art glass frame. 76cm x 76cm. ‘Green Onions’ recorded in 1962 by Booker T. & the M.G.'s, entered the Billboard Hot 100 the week ending August 11, 1962 and peaked at No. 3. Many years later it rode in on the UK Singles Chart, on the back of the Mod revival, and first appeared December 15, 1979 at No.74, it then hit its highest position on January 26, 1980 at No.7. British rhythm and blues singer Georgie Fame credited the single with being a main influence on his switch from piano to Hammond organ.

JIMI HENDRIX, 1967 UK ALBUM COVER PROOF FOR AXIS: BOLD AS LOVE. An exceptionally rare album cover proof for the 1967 UK issue of Jimi Hendrix's Axis: Bold as Love, designed by David King. 63cm x 34cm, framed. Cover proofs were made by a record label's printers, so art directors and the label could approve artwork before mass-producing the finished covers. They were expensive to make and no more than a handful were produced; they were generally discarded after finished covers were printed, making this a unique and quality Hendrix collectible.
Condition: Slight crease, barely visible.

LYNYRD SKYNYRD, NUTHIN' FANCY LP, SIGNED. The third studio album by iconic Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd, released in March 1975. Signed by all seven band members, including Ronnie Van Zandt, other signers include Billy Powell, Gary Rossington, Leon Wilkeson, Ed King, Allen Collins and Artimus Pyle (who debuted with the band on this album), before the February 1977 Rainbow Concert. Nuthin' Fancy was the band's first album to reach the top 10 on the US album chart. It was certified gold on June 27, 1975, and platinum on July 21, 1987.
Provenance: Signatures obtained by former employee of 5-1 Productions during the band's 1977 performance at the Rainbow Theatre in London.
